Jason Merle comes from the Tower District in Fresno, California, and has been playing records since 1997. He moved to the Bay Area to swim with the big fish, producing and playing alongside the DJs who filled the San Francisco scene, then went home to Fresno and kept building there until 2008. Then came a decade focused on fatherhood.
When he came back, it was to the studio. He started his own label, 4E&A Records, and built a catalog across Viva, Pluralistic, Colour and Pitch, Whiskey Pickle and Chicago Skyline, making tracks that honor the past while looking ahead and working hard at getting better behind the desk.
On Red Melon, Merle remixed Dano & Sen-Sei's Keep on Dancin' in 2025, stretching its sunrise vocal chops and muted-brass colour into the Sunrise Reprise, an eight-minute soulful swing for early-morning floors.
