RM001 Dano - Spinal Trip
Red Melon's first record arrived in 1997, a year after Dano founded the label, and it still sounds like a mission statement. Three Dano cuts of underground West Coast deep and tech house: Bass Bubble Dub swings on a squelchy, bubbling stab bouncing through tape delay over soft dub chords; The Tingler keeps the pressure low and tactile; and the Spinal Trip 12" runs long into a stripped DJ-tool outro. Analog kicks, rolling subs, nothing wasted. Decades on, Bass Bubble Dub resurfaced at number eight on Seb Zito's Beatport DJ chart "Revival." A debut built for the booth.
