RM008 Shack Attack (Dano, David Coleman & Sen-Sei) - Shack Attack
Shack Attack brought Dano together with David Coleman, and Sen-Sei on keys and percussion, for a 2000 twelve that bottles the warmth of West Coast deep house. The A side, Use What U Got, runs 7:47 on punchy kicks, shakers and a muted funky sub, turning a pitched-down vocal chop into percussion beside dubby electric-piano and FM stabs before ambient washes open the breaks. The B side, Something Wonderful, at 6:47, swings on a heavy conga loop and a thick rolling bass, with a spoken "use what they got" line and a bright organ riff for the hook. Deep, soulful, unmistakably West Coast.
