RM015 Those Norwegians - Toons
Those Norwegians brought a mischievous streak to Red Melon with Toons in 2002, and Terry Lee Brown Junior steered it deeper. The Original is playful deep tech-house: a pitched-down "ha ha ha" laugh motif, breathy sighs, bubbly filter-swept blips and ethereal wordless pads, capped by a late, squelchy acid-tinged lead. The TLB Jr. Remix is shorter and hypnotic, riding dubby tech-house chords on a slow filter breath, with clipped vocal chops as percussion. Terry's Dub opens the space further with dry woodblocks, classic minor stabs and a melancholic pad on the break. Early-2000s European-meets-West Coast deep house, cheeky and hypnotic.
