Harlem Zip Code's Anglepoise, from 2004, features Corrina Joseph's voice and a Terry Lee Brown Junior remix that opens the dub space. The Original is swung deep house with a hint of UK garage bounce: punchy kicks, shuffling sixteenth hats and a round, sub-heavy bass carry Corrina's looped "gonna take a ride" chop, with early staccato synth stabs giving way to warm, jazzy Rhodes chords. Terry Lee Brown Junior's remix steadies the groove with offbeat open hats and rolling shakers, chopping the vocal into rhythm over dub-techno stabs and an atmospheric pad breakdown. Vinyl-thick, DJ-friendly and quietly elegant.
