Somebody, from 2024, pairs Ed Ridgley's original with a Dano remix, two takes on one chopped soulful vocal. The Original Mix goes deep and tech: shuffling hats, syncopated shakers, a warm rolling sub and dub-techno minor chord stabs smeared in delay and filter, with the "Somebody" chop working as percussion through a DJ intro, pad-and-vocal breakdown and subtractive outro. Dano's remix locks the kick to a bouncy syncopated bass, offbeat hats and sixteenth shakers, letting soulful "somebody" and "ready" phrases trade places with the percussion. Both leave the booth plenty of room. Classic West Coast deep house from the label's revival era.
